With the support of the Agència Catalana de Turisme, Tarragona Turisme, the Patronat de Turisme de la Costa Daurada, DO Empordà Wine Route and the DOP Cava, the International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC) has seen once again the best education, the best business and the best networking for the wine and culinary tourism industry with over 900 business meetings taking place and over 150 attendees gathering in Tarragona for the three days of the event.
30 high quality buyers were present from key wine tourism markets such as Scandinavian countries, USA and Canada and key markets in Europe such as Germany and the UK.
The IWINETC conference programme of 16 talks, panel discussions and master class wine tastings were well-attended. Speaker notes are now available for download on the IWINETC website.
Commenting on the close of the event, Anthony Swift, IWINETC Event Director, said: “IWINETC 2023 has been a fantastic success, surpassing all our expectations with more quality input sessions from world class speakers and more one-to-one business meetings taking place per attendee than in IWINETC Porto 2021. We have received brilliant feedback with 94% of attendees agreeing that IWINETC is must attend event for the wine and culinary tourism industry. During the event there was so much appetite for gaining knowledge, doing business and for wine. There has been a real sense of excitement and we look forward to IWINETC 2024.”
