Wine Pleasures has announced the winners of its prestigious “50 Great White Wines of the World 2025” competition. Revealed today on WinePleasures.com, the results showcase outstanding performances by boutique producers, with European wines dominating the top ranks .
Highlights from the Awards
In the No Oak Category (Dry Whites), the top score of 98 points was awarded to the 2023 Ca’ Brusade Chardonnay from Freccianera Fratelli Berlucchi, Italy.
In the Lightly Oaked (3–6 months) category, Casa Relvas Rabo de Ovelha 2024 from Casa Relvas, Portugal received 94 points.
For the Heavily Oaked (6+ months) category, three wines tied with 97 points: NV Kaputt White from Van Zeller Wine Collection, Douro, Portugal; Chateau Haut Bertinerie Grand Vin Blanc 2024 from Vignoble Bertinerie, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, France; and 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Kranachberg Sonnenhang DAC from Domaines Kilger, Südsteiermark, Austria.
In the Medium-Dry with Residual Sugar (5–18 g/L) category, 95 points were awarded to Volarik – Ryzlin, South Moravia, Czech Rupublic.
European Excellence & Trade Confidence
European producers dominated the leaderboard—particularly Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and France—with no entries from Australasia, South Africa, or the Americas reaching the top 50 bracket. The competition, judged blind by a blend of wine buyers, wine makers and sommeliers, is esteemed among importers, distributors, and on-/off-trade professionals for its rigorous standards and reliable commercial insights.
