About Gramona & terroir:

For over 130 years the Gramona family has been making wines with character and personality, which express the Bodega’s house style and convey the identity of the land and its terroirs. Their work is a challenge, a constant commitment, and a family honour. In short, they respect a tradition of excellence handed down through five generations.

Gramona has grown the Xarel·lo grape variety from the very beginning, proving its quality and ageing potential through its wines and, above all, through its long-aged sparkling wines. The Xarel·lo is the white grape variety with the most antioxidants in the world, even containing more than some reds.

For sustainability reasons, all Gramona’s land is worked organically. Today, the winery has fully embraced biodynamics, working in close collaboration with Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, internationally recognised soil experts, who describe Gramona as “the winery which has most successfully moved to Biodynamics, having taken an unhurried, step by step approach”. Gramona uses its own livestock for its preparations which it applies in its vineyards and its own garden of medicinal plants in order to care for the land and the environment.

We produce: Biodynamic (Demeter)
